ColorChip is expanding its Optical Splitter product family. The company has announced a new product called Splitter Array that incorporates a number of optical splitters in a single device. Such a product in a configuration of eight 1x2 splitters is now offered in commercial quantities, and more array configurations are available per custom specifications. Splitter Array is ideal for system vendors who wish to reduce costs, save real estate, eliminate fibers rolled at the system interior, and simplify the overall system design.
The Splitter Array is based on the ColorChip unique Planar Lightwave Circuit (PLC) technology called Ion Exchange in glass. Like other products from the company, the Splitter Array exhibits superb optical performance such as very low insertion loss, very low PDL, great channel uniformity and wide wavelength operative range.
Splitter Arrays are designed for various applications, including FTTH and FTTP systems, CATV, metro networks, laboratories and test equipment. The ColorChip Splitter Arrays fully comply with the reliability and performance requirements of the Telcordia GR-1209 and GR1221 standards.
