ColorChip Announces PON Transceiver Availability

Fiber Optics Expo (FOE) 2007, Tokyo, Japan  – January 24, 2007 – ColorChip, a leading developer and provider of fiber optics components based on PLC technology, announced today at the Fiber Optics Expo in Tokyo, Japan the availability of  GEPON (EPON) diplexer transceivers px10 and px20 as well as GPON Class A diplexer for the FTTH market.

"This is a big milestone for ColorChip, proving the maturity of ColorChip's SystemOn Glass™ concept," said Moshe Price, CEO of ColorChip, "recently, samples were shipped to some of our customers and more samples will be provided by demand".

ColorChip's transceivers are based on the SystemOnGlass™ (SOG™) concept, developed at ColorChip and is covered with patents. This concept simplifies the design and manufacturing process compared with the traditional bulk optic solutions. The transceivers support Digital Diagnostic & Monitoring (DDM) providing diagnostic and monitor capabilities for power supply, temperature, optical power output and more.

"By supporting DDM, our GEPON and GPON transceivers provide an added value to the network provider" said Jaime Reloj, VP sales at ColorChip, "This functionality delivers  remote diagnostics and control over the network.  This should reduce the network management cost and provide faster service response.”.
